Ever wonder about the story behind the Dancing Goat and the Hog
Trough Bronzes located in Del Frisco’s? These two bronzes display the name of
the Grand Champion Goat and Pig buyers from the Sale of Champions for the last
5 years. The artist is Sharon McConnell, who with no formal training and just a
couple of phone calls captured the vision of her clients with these two
commissioned bronzes. Sharon and Ronnie, her husband of 38 years, live on their
ranch just three miles north of Dublin and have been lifelong supports of the
FFA & 4H.
They share their love of God, 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren and a passion for horses and the country life. Sharon was the 2013 featured artist at the Trappings of Texas in Alpine for her “Heading to the Pens” bronze. She’s a “wonderment” and her talent has helped increase the amount of money raised at the Sale of Champions each year she and Ronnie have been involved as buyers are proud to have their names associated with such detailed work.
